The Allentown Art Guild had a show at the Rebearth "Gallery" in Asbury Park. I had not been to Asbury Park since my nephew moved to Point Pleasant Beach. The city has changed a lot. The show ran for 3 weeks and had publicity in the local papers. Unfortunately, little sold. One of our members who does fabric art did find a buyer from Princeton. The rest of us did not sell a thing. Too bad. There was some good stuff there.
Meanwhile the Artists of Yardley had a members only show with over 100 pieces on exhibit. A few sold at least. There was some really interesting pieces at that show including a teapot shaped like a Japanese kimono. It was spectacular. So were some of the paintings, particulary one of an Amish boy in front of a quilt.
AOY is a very active group. Its hard to keep up with them. They have so much going on. Their Harvest Fest at the end of Sept includes an auction of paintings. I have one there. I also have one in a local coffee shop (Java Jim's) and they just announced another show for AOY members. WOW!
