My blog is combination of my paintings and experience with painting and my long time interest in my family's genealogy. I have been painting for about 20 years but really only in earnest for the past 5 or so. My genealogic pursuits started about 20 years ago when I learned that the local Mormon Family History Library had microfilms from all over the work. My current database now numbers about 1700 people covering 15 or more generations and about 575 years.

Nathaniel
I have always joked that I live vicariously through the grandchildren of my friends and family. I have no grandchildren on the horizen. Before I have my own children I thought of my four nephews as very special people and still do. Now, I sit occassionally for my grandnephew Nathaniel and get to take him to a craft class. I obviously adore him. He is a sheer delight. He comes to me when he's hungry or needs protection. He makes his opinions obvious and is very determined, organized, and usually patient. Today we had a stand off about holding my hand. He stood without moving for over 10 minutes before he gave in and took my hand. I totally enjoy being around him!

Nathaniel and I attend an art class weekly. He enjoys socializing with other toddlers and some of the crafts. He does not like to get his hands dirty, so no finger paints for him. He loves stickers, stamping and painting with a brush. If he gets dirty or gets me dirty, he says, "Oh, oh!"
