My blog is combination of my paintings and experience with painting and my long time interest in my family's genealogy. I have been painting for about 20 years but really only in earnest for the past 5 or so. My genealogic pursuits started about 20 years ago when I learned that the local Mormon Family History Library had microfilms from all over the work. My current database now numbers about 1700 people covering 15 or more generations and about 575 years.

Latest effort
Since we had to refurbish the first floor of the shore house, Margaret needed a new painting to go over her bed. We looked around several stores but she found nothing she liked that she was willing to pay for. Many paintings were $400-600. We saw a painting similar to this one. The umbrella was blue. Francine suggested that Margaret not settle but rather get a "Lumia" original. So I did a similar painting but changed the umbrella to a sunny cadmium yellow. This is a 24x36 canvas that will fit nicely over her bed.
