This is the Lumia Family in 1941, a month or so after I was born. Peter is kneeling and is approaching his 10th birthday.
The color picture is Peter's family at the wedding of Peter Jr to Mary Anne. It includes Peter's 4 sons and 5 grandchildren. It was a happy occasion and Mary Anne has been a wonderful wife to Peter Jr. and daughter-in-law to Peter, Sr.
Peter died peacefully in a hospital in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada on October 30, 2012 after suffering a heart attack. He was on a cruise which he loved to do. He was travelling with his friend, Doris, whom he met when he moved to Sea Brook after his wife died.
Peter was a lawyer for AT&T for many years. He went to Rutgers and graduated with a BS in Math with the idea he would teach. He did practice teach and hopefully realized that he did not have the patience or personality to teach.
After spending time in the Air Force in Germany, he decided to attend law school. That's where he met Barbara who was a nursing student living in the same building. They married in 1958, eloping to Atlantic City. He graduated in 1959 and their first child was born that August.
After teaching at the University of Indiana Law School for a year he worked for the NLRB in Cleveland. From there, he moved to corporate law at AT&T.
He and Barbara had 3 more sons. Peter, Jr. is a Gulf War Veteran, David is a retired business man, Jeff is a Materials Manager, and Michael is a pharmacist. Peter, Jr has 3 children and 4 grandsons. David has 2 sons.
